China’s economy ‘fairly solid’, Antofagasta CEO says

Otmane El Rhazi, Tuesday, April 8: Antofagasta Plc’s (LON:ANTO) chief executive officer Diego Hernandez yesterday told representatives of the media that copper may have found a bottom even as the market for the metal faces its first supply glut in four years. The head of the Chilean miner gave an interview as part of the CESCO/CRU copper conference in Chile, during which he also discussed the state of China’s economy.

According to Hernandez, the economic problems of the world’s largest copper consumer are minor and are unlikely to trigger a crisis in the country.
